KidsCan is now providing the essentials to a whopping 1100 schools and ECEs nationwide. When we support a child, we pledge to be there for the long-haul. And by notching up those kilometres, you’ll be helping us to go the distance for little Kiwis who need us.
Any questions, our fundraising team will be happy to hear from you. Contact us at fundraise@kidscan.org.nz
You'll be joining runners like 6-year-old Toby, who has been clocking up the kilometres before class. Toby says he's supporting KidsCan because he doesn’t want other children to feel hungry or have no shoes.
His Mum Lou says it's a great event to be part of - he learns to train, gets to experience a race and earns his medal. And there are bigger life lessons from his fundraising too.
"We’ve talked about how his life as a kid is not experienced by all other children, and sadly there are some children who don’t get as much food as he gets each day or all the clothes we have readily available for us," she says. "It made him realise that there’s inequality in New Zealand. It’s heartbreaking to know there are children who are in the position where they are facing hardship so it just feels good to be able to do what we can to help." - Toby’s Mum
Walk, run or dawdle - what matters is that by doing it as a KidsCan fundraiser, you’ll be making a huge difference for children in need. Will you join our team?
$360 is what it takes for KidsCan to support a child with food, clothing, and health items for a year… and as our thanks to you, once you hit that mark, you'll earn yourself a free KidsCan running shirt and an awesome Nothing Naughty gift pack.
The Barfoot & Thompson Auckland Marathon takes place on Sunday October 29.
Choose your distance and make a difference:
All our fundraisers are welcome to join us in the KidsCan marquee at the end so we can celebrate your achievements, take some photos and refuel you with some goodies.
Why not choose a wacky way to participate? We've seen it all - from a firefighter completing the entire marathon in full gear, to a dad running the course barefoot, and a bride running in her wedding gown with a bouquet and blushing groomsmen in tow...
Because it's not just about the race; it's about spreading smiles along the way. And we'll be there cheering you on.
Happy training, we hope to see you there!
